NEUTRAL GROUND

Enjoying photography without walls and boundaries.

The PWC Network Team:

Nikko Taytay (South-X) – Network Creator/Overall Administrator
Edwin Loyola (Framed Shots) – Site Administrator
Carlo Carlos (Exposure) – Site Administrator
Parc Cruz (Framed Shots) – Moderator
Lhor Santillan (Prize Photo) – Moderator
Jon Carlos (Imahe) - Moderator
Judith Carlos (Exposure) - Moderator

General Rules:
1. The PWC Network is open to all photographers – whether he or she is a camera club member or not. But we urge everyone to be a member of a camera club, and we strongly believe that one way to cultivate one’s photography skill is by joining a camera club.

2. The PWC Network is open to all camera clubs – even non-FPPF affiliated clubs. But we would urge your camera club to be affiliated with the FPPF so that you may join us in the PWC inter-club activities and competitions.

3. Plugging other activities are permitted but will be deleted if it’s in conflict with FPPF's activities such as “PAID WORKSHOPS.” For further inquiries you may forward your announcement to the moderators for approval.

4. REAL NAMES ONLY. Please use your real names in this site. For security reasons, we discourage accounts using codenames or handles. All users found by our moderators to be guilty of this violation will be given one (1) week to edit his/her account otherwise will be subject to being banned from this site.

5. Uploading Photos under your account. The PWC Network has a limited storage space – please don’t believe the notion that you can upload unlimited images to the site. A member can only upload ONE (1) image per day; otherwise it will be deleted by the moderator/administrator.

6. Uploading Videos under your account. There are two ways to upload a video – by streaming a video from an external host (like youtube, multiply, etc.) or by uploading the video from your computer (which would require use of the site’s storage space). We would appreciate it if you would share videos via external streaming; otherwise if you opt to upload a video from your computer, you can only upload a video once (1) a day.

7. Share at your own risk. Although we highly appreciate everyone sharing photography works, the FPPF, PWC, Administrators, and Moderators are not responsible for images stolen or grabbed without owner’s consent from the site. Please watermark your work for security.

8. NUDITY RULE. Sharing photographs of Nudity is allowed, but with certain restrictions. While "nudity" is an art, uploaded images must not, however, show sexual or reproductive organ of the subject, human or animal; Direct breast and pubic hair exposure is also prohibited. Any image that shows sexual act or even suggests an indecent act or pose, offensive to moral standards, is not eligible and therefore prohibited in this site. Please be warned that this site also caters to young students, that’s why we want to keep everything clean and of “General Patronage.”

Forum Rules:

1. Post your messages in its respective topic.
2. Respect the moderators and members of this forum.
3. No explicit swearing and obscenities.
4. Personal problems and issues with fellow members should be tackled off the forum.
5. Keep your comments and questions relevant to the thread. Remember that you're also taking up other people's time when they read your posts. If you find an off-topic post, do not reply to it so as not to start an off-topic conversation. If you don't have anything to add to the discussion refrain from doing so. Or send a message to that person privately.
6. DO NOT USE ALL CAPS. This is associated with exclamatory remarks (e.g. shouting) and may offend others. If you want to emphasize something, use the bold/italic tags or quotation marks.
7. Self-moderation is highly encouraged to everyone in the list If you find someone violating any House rules, or have questions about the group just send a private message to the moderator or administrator.
8. Members can be banned from the group for NOT following the rules. A member will be warned before banning unless the violation is severe.
9. Sharing of photos inside the forum discussions. Only photos hosted externally (eg. flickr, multiply, photobucket, etc.) can be posted to the discussion, photos uploaded straight from your computer is not allowed since it will take up storage space in our site. So please upload your images to an external host first and post the link in the “Add An Image” icon at the toolbar atop of the reply box.
10. The Nudity Rule must also be observed inside the discussion forums at all times.

PHOTO OF THE DAY and the PHOTO OF THE WEEK:

1. Starting August 7, 2008. Photos selected to be the "Photo Of The Day" will be selected ONLY among the images which have been uploaded on that same day.

2. This will encourage everyone to join in the fun and upload only their best for the day.

3. The Photo Of The Week (POTW) will be selected among the seven (7) Photo Of The Day winners. The Admins and Moderators will be judging these images.

3. Again, this is just for kicks - for fun only, and is not an official contest. Winners of the Photo Of The Day (POTD) and the Photo Of The Week (POTW) will not receive prizes but will definitley enjoy the bragging rights of having the best image for that day or week.

4. Reminder, what you post reflects the quality of what kind of a photographer you are - so upload only the best image you can share. Think Quality over Quantity.

5. All photos uploaded from this website are property of their respective owners/photographers.You may NOT download, copy, reproduce or distribute any images that you acquire from this site. But by uploading you are granting limited rights to PWC-network moderators to use or modify your photo(s) within the site only. Members and Guest may only download the images with the owner's and moderator's written consent.

6. Effective November 03, 2008. For image security, we recommend all members to upload a minimum size photo.
-File size less than 150kb with 72dpi or 96dpi
-Pixel size: 1024x512 / 640x420 / 800x600
- A watermark or name text at least on the side or on a small portion of the photo will also be a requirement. This is compulsory. No watermark/name text - No Approval.

For more information, complaints, and queries, please address them to the PWC Network Team.

I think new members should have a tick box wherein he/she has to check it first to signify that he/she has read and understand the following house rules prior he can join this site.

This is for the protection of the members/moderators of this group and a ground for banning or to reprimand a member.

Just a suggestion.

Cheers,
Roy

Hi Nix and to all moderators,

Just a clarification on the one photo a day on this site under General Rules No. 5
It is stated that "under your account" one can only upload 1 photo a day. How about on the group account and other discussion that needs photo uploading, How many photos can be uploaded a day?

Thanks and Cheers,
Roy

The one photo upload rule covers only uploads to your gallery (which is also shown to the whole community gallery).

Forums discussions and Groups are not included in this rule, but we strongly require members to share their images in the discussions by sharing photos which are extrenally hosted (flickr, multiply, photobucket, etc.) rather than uploading an image straight from their PC to the site which will consume our storage.

Hi Nix,
Another query, in General Rule Nos. 1 and 2, it is stated that the PWC network is open to all photographers and photography clubs whether he/she is not an FPPF affiliated nor their clubs.
How bout individuals or groups who's main activity is not photography, can they still join this site or can their club join as well.
You see I have a mountaineering club which is PEAK (Pacific Eco-Adventure Klub) tho most of us are into photography, but our main activity is outdoor adventures and ecological activities.
Can I have my other club and club members join this site as well. I just like to clarify prior I invite them individually and as a club.
Cheers,Roy

Hi Roy,

Thanks for bringing this up, any other organization even not entirely related to photography perse can still join this network, provided that they can contribute to the advancement and development of the network. Also they are welcome here if its members would be active in the photography discussions and even FPPF or PWC Network activities - as long as they can be a part of the Network as individuals with the same passion in photography as with the regular members of this network then let them dive in!

Who knows, maybe members from these "non-photography" orgs can be future members of the existing PWC camera clubs or even they can form a subgroup or a camera club inside their own organization and be affiliated with the PWC/FPPF in the future.

And again, as long as they can abide with the rules and be a "blessing" to the members of this network, then they are most welcome.

Hi Nix, Moderators and Coordinators,
Since any club (whether photography related or non-photogrpahy related) can join the Photoworld Cup 2008 Network, is there a way there would be a distinction for FPPF Club members from from non members?
Are non-FPPF Clubs and FPPF affiliated Clubs have the same previllege on this site?

Same goes with individual members who joins this network, are the previlage the same with members of club who are affiliated wtih FPPF?

For instance with the uploading of photos.... Everyone can only upload one photo a day regardless if you are a member or non member of a club affiliated with FPPF.

This is just an inquiry for clarification.

Best Regards,
Roy Van

Good point roy! we still have to work out on that area. Maybe if we have sponsors or any incentives, members of fppf will be prioritized. . comment noted. . .thanks bro!

Hi Roy,

Sa ngayon what we can give to the "PWC affilaited" club members is that they will be in their top priorities like in Featuring their photos, groups, videos, blogs, etc.

As you can see may limitations din kasi ang site natin and we cannot toggle certain factors like in uploading pics na hindi talaga natin malimit literally na one (1) lang talaga ang pwede iupload... kaya nga self moderation parin ang pinorpromote natin - although nafifilter na and by approval na ng mods ang phot uploads. other than that eh we still have to work on it.

So far sa ngayon rest assured that the PWC affiliated clubs and its members would still get their big cut of the pie... the only question for now is if they will take it - because as you can see marami sa kanila ang wala pa dito.

Although we are opening our doors to the outside world and welcome other groups and individuals na wala pa sa FPPF-PWC circle, we see this matter as an opportunity for the FPPF-PWC and all its clubs to be known and be advertised to the rest of the philippine photography world as well. Kaya nga we are promoting this site to be the "Neutral Ground" not only for the PWC groups but also sa mga other groups sa labas as well.

But as always, this is our own backyard, kaya we as admins and mods of the PWC will see to it that certain privileges must also be given to those whom this site is made for.

Thank you again for the inputs, Roy.

All the best!

Nix
